Because it is a marking for a scene, the plaque is tied to no scale and will serve equally well under a figure and under a vehicle, whether you build in 1:35 or in a finer form.
The designation French GIGN belongs to the intervention unit of the French gendarmerie, which came about in the middle of the nineteen seventies and concentrates on freeing hostages and on action against armed offenders. Unlike most of the emblems in this range it is a present-day formation, not a Second World War one. The plaque therefore suits modern gendarmerie and police material - armored cars, off-road vehicles and figures in intervention gear.
Level and degrease the ground beforehand, otherwise the plaque will not seat over its whole area. It stands out best on dark wood or on a smoothly varnished plinth, where it has a few millimeters of free space around it.
