FS 35622 LIGHT BLUE 17 ML

Light Blue FS 35622, acrylic paint 17 ml (AK interactive)

A modeling paint from the aircraft range of the Spanish brand AK interactive. It is a water-thinnable acrylic, that is a paint without aggressive solvents and without a penetrating smell, with a silk matte surface. The package holds 17 ml and the dropper bottle allows exact measuring drop by drop. The shade matches the American Federal Standard 595, code FS 35622, and it is an opaque light blue, not a transparent tinting varnish.

Light shades and how to work with them

A light blue of this type is used in modeling above all on the undersides of the fuselage and the wings, where it is to imitate the reflection of the sky. It is precisely with light shades that you have to reckon on their covering less well than dark paints: on dark plastic or on a dark primer more coats are needed, and that is why spraying light areas over a light base is simply practical. The paint goes on thinly, otherwise the engraved panel lines are lost, and on the undersides they are often the only detail there is.

Use

• spraying with an airbrush: stir the paint and thin it with water or with an acrylic thinner of the same type
• brush painting: apply several thin coats, which goes double for light tones
• on plastic and resin a primer is advisable, ideally a light or a white one
• before decals, go over the surface with a gloss varnish compatible with acrylics
• DO NOT THIN with lacquer or enamel thinners, as the paint would curdle

Who the paint is for

For aircraft modelers who need a reliable light blue shade to the FS standard for undersides and for the transition bands of a camouflage. Thanks to the water-thinnable formulation it also suits work in an apartment without extraction.

Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles to the bottom. Work in a ventilated space, and when spraying use a respirator and eye protection. Keep out of the reach of children and protect from frost.
