A head loupe in the W4 form, which the modeler puts on their head and keeps both hands free for the work.
Responsibility details are not available.
A head loupe goes on the head, so it takes up neither a hand nor space on the bench while you work. That is its main advantage over a loupe held in the hand or on a stand: both hands stay free and you always have the magnified view wherever you happen to be looking. When building a model it suits everywhere the parts are smaller than the naked eye can cope with: on photo-etched parts, when scribing panel lines, when seating small decals, when painting instruments and when cleaning up mating surfaces.
First set the headband so that the loupe holds without pressure on your temples, because a band pulled too tight makes itself unpleasantly felt after a while. Try the working distance out in advance: with a magnified view the band of sharpness is short, so the distance between the eye and the part has to be kept and the light has to be good. When you look up from the work, tip the visor up or take the loupe off, otherwise a magnified and unfocused image will throw you off balance. Never look at the sun or at a strong light source through the loupe.
Clean the optics with a soft spectacle cloth, dampened with clean water if need be. Do not use solvents, thinners or paper towels, because the surface is easily scratched. Set the loupe down so that the optics do not rest on the bench top, and protect it from falling.
Anyone who works with small parts will appreciate the loupe: modelers, but also people who repair electronics, watches or jewelry.
Modeling tools and further equipment are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
