Trumpeter 1:350 T4M is a small plastic kit of the Martin T4M carrier torpedo bomber in 1:350 scale, intended mainly for the decks of ship models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The item belongs to the line of small aircraft models in 1:350 scale that Trumpeter releases as an addition to models of vessels. It is supplied as injection-molded plastic, unassembled and unpainted. Given the scale this is a very small model whose main use is on a deck, in a hangar or in a diorama, rather than as a standalone display-case piece.
The Martin T4M was a carrier torpedo bomber of the US Navy from the end of the 1920s. It was a large biplane with a fixed undercarriage and a radial engine, following on from the older torpedo types of the same design family. Besides a torpedo it could carry bomb armament, and it belonged to the basic equipment of the decks of the early American aircraft carriers. The type is a good example of the move from wood-and-fabric structures to the sturdier carrier machines of the 1930s.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel rather than with cutters, so that a small casting is not deformed. Apply the glue in drops with a fine brush. On a biplane in this scale the most sensitive part is setting the upper wing and the struts, and it pays to prop the assembly up while the glue hardens. It can be painted with an airbrush at low pressure or with a fine brush; the typical color markings of interwar American carrier aircraft are suggested with just a few small strokes once the base color has dried.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
