IDF Modern Grey 17 ml.

Real Colors RC882 IDF Modern Grey, 17 ml

A modeling acrylic paint from the Real Colors range by AK Interactive, the manufacturer's part number RC882, in a 17 ml package. The abbreviation IDF denotes the Israel Defense Forces. The shade is listed as a modern gray, a cooler tone than the sand colors of the earlier period.

The color

Israeli ground equipment keeps a single-color finish whose tone shifted over the years from a warm sand toward a cooler gray. The modern gray stands at the end of that road and on a model it forms the overall area of armored vehicles. Because there are no camouflage patches on the vehicle, the whole impression rests on grading the surface, on the markings and on the traces of service.

How to work with the paint

• Shake the bottle well every time before taking any out; the pigment settles at the bottom.
• Gray tones show an imperfect surface mercilessly, so sand joints and filled areas carefully beforehand.
• Build the paint up in thin coats so that welds, hatches and engraving stay legible.
• Lighten the middle of large panels and darken the areas around the joints, or the vehicle will merge into one flat area.
• For thinning and for cleaning tools, use the thinner intended for the Real Colors range; the ratio is given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Packaging and storage

Store the paint in a carefully closed bottle away from heat and frost. Paint that has thickened can be thinned, but check the final tone on a test sample. The package contains one bottle of 17 ml. Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and the model are not included, unless stated otherwise.
