The abbreviation IDF stands for the Israel Defense Forces, and the shade on their vehicles is among the most easily recognized in the world: a uniform light finish with no camouflage patches, which in the desert and in rocky terrain quickly fades and gathers dust. The manufacturer lists it under the designation Sinai Grey with the number 82, which distinguishes this tone from the other Israeli shades in the range. Compare the exact tone with the manufacturer's color chart before you build, because in photographs Israeli vehicles look different every time depending on the light and the wear.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, ideally for several minutes, so that the binder combines with the settled pigment. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging, that is, the thinner intended for this range. Spray in several thin coats and let each one become tacky, as one heavy coat will flood the fine surface detail. It is a good idea to prime the surface beforehand, as the paint holds evenly on a primer and covers better.

A uniform finish takes plenty of further work: toning the surfaces, picking out the joints, rubbing back the edges and dust on the underside of the vehicle. When you have finished, even out the whole surface with a varnish, matte or semi-gloss depending on how dusty you want the machine to look.
