The Mediterranean Blue shade

A single shade from the IONIC color range by AMMO of Mig Jimenez. The name Mediterranean Blue points to a Mediterranean blue, that is, to a saturated blue tone with a greenish cast, the kind shallow water has on a sunny day. Compare the tone with the manufacturer's color chart before buying.

What it is suited to

A blue of this kind comes into its own wherever water or strong civilian color is wanted. It is used on the water surface in a diorama, on the hulls of pleasure boats and launches, on the accessories of coastal scenery and on the bright finishes of civilian vehicles. It also serves well for mixing: added to green it shifts it toward a cool blue-green tone, and added to gray it makes a cool gray of the kind that suits naval vessels.

Painting tips

• shake the bottle thoroughly before use or stir the contents
• saturated blue tones go on better over a light primer coat than straight onto a dark surface
• work in thin coats and let each one set, as one heavy coat runs into the engraving
• choose a thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions
• paint a water surface in a diorama in layers and grade the shade gradually with depth

Delivery and care

What you order is the shade alone; thinner, brushes and other equipment are not supplied with it, unless stated otherwise. Close the bottle well after work and keep it dry and away from frost.
