Plasma Green is a saturated green from the IONIC range by AMMO of Mig Jimenez. It is a strong, striking tone of the kind that suits areas meant to draw the eye on a model: power cells, vision panels, insignia and stripes, pieces of equipment or small parts that are to stand out from their muted surroundings. It shows to best effect precisely against the gray and earthy shades that make up most of a model.
Stir the contents of the bottle thoroughly before use; with a saturated green the pigment settles and unstirred paint covers unevenly. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging and use a thinner intended for this range. Apply several thin coats and let the surface dry between them; one heavy coat creeps into the engraved lines and wipes out the detail you worked up beforehand.
Saturated green shades cover less well than grays and browns, because they carry less white pigment. On a dark base they therefore go darker and look dull. The safest method is to lay a light base under them, ideally white or light gray, and only then apply the paint. It also pays to try the shade out on a piece of plastic beforehand, because the tone usually changes slightly once dry.
A brush, thinner and further shades are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
