A decal sheet with subjects from the Italian campaign of the Second World War, the second series. An accessory for models of vehicles from the fighting on the Apennine peninsula.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Italian campaign is among the longest ground campaigns of the Second World War in Europe. The fighting began in 1943 in Sicily, moved onto the Apennine peninsula and ended only in the last weeks of the war. Mountainous terrain, narrow valleys and a chain of fortified positions across the peninsula gave the fighting a slow and stubborn character in which the equipment went through one of its hardest tests. For a modeler it is a rewarding theme: the vehicles carried recognition features that differ from other theaters, and a scene can be set anywhere from mountain roads to ruined towns. The designation of the second volume suggests that it follows on from an earlier sheet with the same focus.
The decals will add national insignia, numbers, tactical markings and lettering to a model. Which particular machine and which unit are on the sheet is given by the list enclosed with it; go by that when choosing the finish as well.
Cut the subject out close to the edge of the print and soak it for a few seconds in lukewarm water. Let it rest until the backing releases and move it onto a glossy surface, where no air bubbles form under the decal. Blot the excess water away; on detailed surfaces decal softener will help. Once dry, spray the area with clear coat so that the edge of the print disappears. The procedure given by the manufacturer always takes precedence.
This is a stand-alone decal sheet. The model of the vehicle, paints, decal softener and clear coat are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
