Lite Oil Premium Hob-E-Lube

A thin oil for fine mechanisms

The light oil of the premium Hob-E-Lube line is intended for mechanisms where a thicker lubricant would put up resistance: for the bearings and linkages of radio-controlled models, for the coupling rods, connecting rods and pins of locomotives in HO and larger, and for small instruments where it matters that they start up by themselves and quietly.

The blend holds multi-viscosity additives, thanks to which it keeps its lubricating ability in frost as well as in heat, that is where an ordinary oil thickens or, the other way round, runs off a surface. The kinematic viscosity at forty degrees Celsius is given as around 47 units, which makes it the thinnest lubricant it makes sense to use on models. The bottle holds 14.7 ml.

• small household appliances with slow-running mechanisms

Before the first drop it pays off to rid the bearing of dust and old remains. With pins as fine as a watchmaker's, cleanliness decides more than the amount of lubricant, and the oil then gets exactly where it should.

It is dosed drop by drop and in a really small amount. An excess on a layout attracts dust and a fine shaft then turns into a grinding paste, so the rule of one drop on one place and wiping the rest away holds. For slow and more heavily loaded gears the thicker type of the same line is more suitable, as a thin oil runs off them quickly.
