LP-26 Dark Green JGSDF is a dark green derived from the finish of Japan Ground Self-Defense Force equipment. Their vehicles carry a dark green base over which a brown mottled pattern is usually applied, so on a model this shade normally forms the lower layer covering the largest area. It serves on models of post-war Japanese tanks and wheeled equipment, and as a starting green wherever you need a darker, less saturated tone than the usual greens.
Stir the contents of the bottle thoroughly before use, or the settled pigment will shift the shade. The thinner, the thinning ratio and the recommended way of applying it follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging; use the thinner intended for this range. Apply the shade in several thin coats and let the surface go tacky between them, because one heavy coat floods the fine surface detail. Try the procedure on a piece of scrap plastic first.
Apply the brown pattern only over a dried green base, freehand or over a lifted stencil, so that the edge of the patch is not hard. Even the surface out with a gloss clear coat before applying decals, because a white bloom forms under a decal on a matte base. Do the weathering at the very end.
