Lunar Desert – Wargame Terrains – 100 ml is an AK interactive texture paste for barren and desert surfaces, where what counts is the coarseness of the texture against the size of the figure.
Responsibility details are not available.
Lunar Desert is a texture from the Wargame Terrains range by AK interactive; according to the name the package holds 100 ml. The material is spread with a tool over a base or over the surface of a scene and, once dry, keeps the relief you have shaped in it.
Coarseness of texture is a matter of proportion
On barren surfaces without growth the whole impression is carried by the texture itself, so it pays to watch how coarse the surface turns out against the size of the figure standing on it. Too pronounced a relief turns small irregularities into boulders and the figure then looks smaller than it is. A finer treatment, by contrast, calms the surface and lets the model stand out on it. It works well to make a test sample on a piece of card, stand a figure beside it and only then decide how heavily to work while applying. On large table surfaces you can afford a more pronounced texture than on a small round base.
It will be reached for by a player building a themed table without greenery and by a modeler building a display scene where the model should do the talking and the terrain should make a calm background for it. The work is simple; the key decision is made while applying, namely how fine or coarse a texture you choose.
The name describes the theme of the surface, not the exact shade. The binding information is given by the manufacturer on the package.
Close the container carefully after work, work in a ventilated room and keep out of the reach of children.
