This is a light gray listed as M-485. Light grays are among the shades used most often on models, whether as a surface in their own right or as a base on which shading and highlighting are built up. The paint is from the Real Colors range by AK Interactive and comes in a bottle of 10 ml.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use so that settled pigment is mixed back in; with light shades this shows in the coverage more than anywhere else. Apply the paint in thin coats and add the next coat only once the previous one has become tacky. One heavy coat floods the fine surface detail, whereas several light ones give an even surface without losing texture. It can be applied with an airbrush as well as with a brush. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging, so follow those instructions.
Wash and degrease the surface of the model before painting and, on smooth parts, use a primer so that the covering coat has something to hold on to. When the work is done, close the bottle carefully and wipe the rim of the neck, otherwise the cap will dry shut in time. Rinse the airbrush out at once, while the paint is still wet; dried paint is hard to get out of the nozzle. Store the paint upright and protect it from frost.
