A set of star-shaped masks for spraying markings on aircraft models, sizes of 17 to 20 mm.
Responsibility details are not available.
The star is one of the most common markings on aircraft models and at the same time a shape that paints badly by hand: the points have to be of equal length and symmetrically arranged, or the eye spots it at once. A sprayed marking also has the advantage over a decal that it has no carrier film and does not rise above the surface, so once the model is matted it looks like part of the finish.
These are star-shaped masks for sizes in the range of 17 to 20 mm; they follow on from the smaller sizes in the same range. The figure in millimeters is the dimension of the marking, not the scale of the model, so the set can be used in any scale that a star of that size suits. How many masks the sheet contains, and in what sizes, is stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
The base has to be smooth, dry and degreased. Apply the mask at the place of the marking and press all the points down carefully with a blunt tip. First spray lightly over it with the color of the base, so that any seepage is closed off by its own color, and only then lay on the shade of the marking in several thin coats. Lift the mask off shortly after it has dried, at an acute angle.
It suits modelers who want their markings sprayed instead of using decals, whether for the appearance or because they are going to weather the model further and the decal film would show through. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
