A narrow masking tape 2 mm wide from the Border Model range. A tape as thin as this is the basis of precise masking: it follows curves easily, wraps around rounded shapes and creates a sharp dividing line where a wide tape would form folds.

Who it is for

For anyone who sprays with an airbrush or a can — from aircraft with hard dividing lines through armored hardware to racing bodies. Outline the boundary of a color area with the narrow tape and cover the rest of the surface with ordinary wide masking; always press the edge down carefully so that the paint does not creep underneath. Compared with cutting strips from wide tape you get a consistent width and a straight, factory-cut edge along the whole length, which shows above all on long fuselage lines. Modeling masking tapes also hold reliably and yet come off with no risk of tearing the base coat away — unlike ordinary stationery tapes from a drugstore, which we do not recommend for models.

Lift the tape at an acute angle shortly after the paint has set — you will reduce the risk of tearing the edge of a fresh coat.
