A Hataka modeling paint in the Medium Green 42 shade. Both the thinner and the ratio of thinning follow the instructions of the manufacturer given on the packaging.
Responsibility details are not available.
Medium Green 42 is the designation of a darker green that the US Army Air Forces used in the period of the Second World War. On aircraft it appeared mainly in the form of irregular blotches on the leading edges of the wings and tail surfaces and on the spine of the fuselage, where it was to break up the outline of the machine seen from above. The shade therefore suits places where camouflage is only to be completed, not carried out over a whole surface.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before every use, so that the pigment settled at the bottom disperses completely; otherwise the paint sprays and covers unevenly. The thinner intended for this range and the ratio of thinning both for spraying and for applying with a brush are given by the manufacturer on the packaging; go by that and do not replace them with a random solvent. The base must be clean and degreased, and with smooth surfaces a primer pays off.
Apply the paint in several thin coats and let the surface set between them. A thick coat fills the fine engraving of a model and dries less well. Close the bottle carefully after use and store it at room temperature, so that the paint does not dry in the neck.
The paint suits builders of aircraft models who put camouflage together from individual shades. A thinner, brushes and a model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
