AK Interactive Medium Rust, Acrylic Paint 17 ml

Medium Rust is a medium rust brown paint from the 3rd Generation Acrylics range by AK Interactive. It is a modeling paint, not a kit - the contents of the package are one dropper bottle with a capacity of 17 ml. The paint is water-thinnable, heavily pigmented, dries flat and is meant to be applied with a brush and with an airbrush.

Rust Is Not One Color

Convincing corrosion never comes out of a single shade. Real rust is made up of several tones layered over one another: the dark one goes into recesses and shadowed places, the medium one forms the overall base and the light one is applied to raised edges and freshly scraped spots. In that structure Medium Rust is the basic, load-bearing tone - it is laid down as the first continuous coat of rust, into which the darker shade is then shaded and over which the light accents are brightened. It is therefore ideal to use all three rust shades together (Light Rust, Medium Rust and Dark Rust); a single color on its own gives flat and unconvincing corrosion.

Use

• The basic tone of rust - broadly rusted areas of sheet metal, cargo beds and bodywork.
• Exhausts, mufflers and the heat-stressed parts of engines.
• Rusty tracks, running surfaces and the running gear of military vehicles.
• A base under chipping and under rust pigments and washes.
• Thinned with water or acrylic thinner; applied with a brush, a sponge or an airbrush.

Who the paint is for

For modelers of military vehicles, builders of dioramas and wrecks, but also for ships, trains, science fiction vehicles and anywhere a model is meant to look worn. The dropper bottle allows precise dosing drop by drop and easy mixing of your own shades.

Shake the paint thoroughly before use. Ensure sufficient ventilation and protect your airways when spraying with an airbrush. Keep out of the reach of children.
