The RX-78-2 Gundam is the machine with which the whole genre of mobile suits began in 1979. In the story of the series Mobile Suit Gundam it is a prototype of the Earth Federation, committed essentially out of necessity and operated by an inexperienced pilot. In modeling terms it is the most frequently rendered subject of the brand at all, and among collectors it serves as the yardstick against which the newer renderings are compared.
It is a plastic kit of a mobile suit from the Gundam series. It belongs to the group designated Internal, which exists for other machines as well. The extent of the parts, their division and the recommended order of assembly are stated in the manufacturer's instructions, as is which parts stay movable.
Separate the individual parts with nippers a little away from the part and level the remainder with a sharp blade or a fine file; it will save work with filling. Try assembling the sub-assemblies dry first, so that you know how they fit together. Whether glue is appropriate anywhere you will recognize from the instructions. Before painting, wash and degrease the surface, apply thin coats and let them dry properly, otherwise the fine engraving in the bends will clog up.
It will suit anyone interested in Japanese science fiction mechs and everyone who wants to have the starting machine of the whole series in a display case. Given the number of small parts it suits rather someone who has already put a kit together. Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
