A neutral gray from the Real Colors range by AK Interactive in a 17 ml bottle. Number 43 belongs to the American chart of shades from the Second World War era and denotes a gray with no color shift, meaning a tone that leans neither toward blue nor toward green. That is exactly why it pairs well with every neighboring shade and does not clash with them.
Originally this is the color of undersides, which visually disappeared against the sky, while the upper sides carried the dark olive number 41. Together, this pair of shades covers the aircraft's entire surface. Neutral Grey also suits uses outside this combination, though, since it serves as a base, as the color of interior surfaces, and as a tone for toning down overly saturated colors around it.
Gray does not take kindly to an uneven coat — on a large smooth area, every transition shows. Mix the paint thoroughly, apply it thin and evenly, and overlap your passes in regular strokes. Wash and degrease the surface beforehand so the paint does not flake off. Apply masks before spraying and remove them only once the paint has dried. Follow the manufacturer's recommended thinner, mixing ratio and tool cleaning.
For modelers building American equipment from the Second World War period, and for anyone who needs a clean neutral gray with no color cast. The package contains only the 17 ml bottle of paint; thinner, primer and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
