The special bending tool with an arm from the Czech maker 3Detail is a photo-etch tool in which the bend is made by a folding arm. The part is bent across its whole width at once and with a consistently identical result.

The version with an arm differs from simpler bending tools in that the bend is not made by a hand or an auxiliary blade, but by a folding arm guided along the whole working length. The photo-etched part is clamped between jaws, the arm is folded down and the material is bent evenly from one end to the other. That removes the most common trouble of bending by hand, where one end of the part is bent more than the other.
Clean the part, sand the remains of the tabs and put it under the jaw against the mark. Fold the arm down smoothly, without jerking. If you need more than one bend on a single part, start with the one nearest the edge, so that the finished bends do not get in the way of the next clamping. On long thin strips it pays to use less pressure and to true the bend up on a second pass. Brass that puts up resistance can again be helped by annealing.
The tool works with thin metal parts and has sharp edges. Keep out of the reach of children. For the particular dimensions and material, follow the data given by the manufacturer on the packaging.
