As soon as a scene grows beyond the size of a display base, the consumption of growth material rises faster than a modeler expects. A continuous area of greenery the size of a sheet of paper swallows more than it would seem, and topping up in small bags carries the risk that the next dose will be slightly elsewhere in shade. This package is markedly more generous than the basic size and according to the manufacturer it covers 945 cm².
Olive green is closer to dry and poor vegetation than to a fresh meadow. It suits the landscape of late summer, dusty roads, views from the south of Europe or from North Africa and everywhere the soil is stony. The fine grain spreads out over an area and suits low growth and places where vegetation is to come across as a carpet rather than as a bush.
With large areas it proves itself to work in parts: divide the terrain into several regions, coat each one separately with glue and spread onto it straight away. Glue applied to a whole area at once dries at the edges before their turn comes. It is better to spread through the fingers or through a coarse sieve, with which the material is distributed evenly. Once dry the area is tilted and the excess pours off onto paper, from where it goes back into the bag. The material has no tie to scale and will serve just as well for the terrain under military vehicles as under a model railroad. The rest stays usable even after years if it is stored dry and out of direct light.
