Paint Set - Dipping collection 05

Paint Set - Dipping collection 05: a start in the dipping technique

This item is a set of dipping inks from Green Stuff World. A dipping ink is a liquid product that is applied generously, runs into the recesses and engraved lines and darkens the shadow there. A model thereby gains depth and a legible shape at once, without every fold having to be painted by hand. For someone who is only trying the technique out, it is the fastest route to a visible result.

Why start with a set

Choosing a first ink one piece at a time means guessing. Neither the name nor a small swatch in a picture tells you well how a tone will really work on a model, and a beginner often picks wrong. A group of tones gives room to try, to compare and to find a favorite procedure. At the same time the most unpleasant thing falls away: finding out in the middle of the work that the next step cannot be done because a shade is missing.

First steps with the set

• Try the effect first on a spare piece or in a less visible place.
• Shake the bottle properly, the pigment settles to the bottom.
• Apply generously and let the ink run into the recesses by itself.
• Pick the excess off the raised areas with a clean squeezed-out brush.
• If you want a stronger effect, add another pass; taking it back off is harder.

Who the set is for

For beginning figure painters and modelers who want to move their results on quickly and without much study, and for anyone looking for a gift for a modeler with the certainty that it will get used.

Keep out of the reach of children, work on a protected surface and in a well-ventilated room.
