The thin styrene strip 0.25x2.5 mm profile from Evergreen is 35 cm long. It serves as stock for cladding, stiffeners and parts made by hand.

This bar of white styrene is among the most used sizes of the whole range. A thickness of a quarter of a millimeter makes it a material that bends effortlessly around a curve or sticks to a rounded fuselage, while a width of two and a half millimeters corresponds to an ordinary plank. In 1:35 scale these dimensions give a board roughly nine centimeters wide and just under a centimeter thick, exactly what planking or a cargo bed needs.
Strips of this kind are used to build ship decks, the cladding of building walls, internal fuselage stiffeners, frames, spacers and replacements for missing parts. In a diorama it will serve for fences, jetties and crates, and in railway modeling for the cladding of wagons and platforms.
Styrene is parted with a sharp knife. A few passes along a ruler are enough and the material snaps cleanly along the score. It is glued with ordinary polystyrene cement, which melts both parts and joins them into one whole, so the joint holds better than after super glue. Sanding goes easily, but proceed with feeling, as a thin strip can be sanded through in a moment.
One piece is 35 cm long and it is sold singly. The material can also be shaped with heat: brief warming over a heat source lets the strip be twisted or bent into a curve, which it keeps once cooled.
Thin strips warp easily if they lie loose or lean against a wall. They keep best in a straight tube or a flat box, where nothing presses along their length. A warped piece can be straightened by careful warming and weighting while the material cools.
