A rectangular 1.5x2.0 millimeter strip of white polystyrene. A mid-size section suited to frames, stiffeners and structural elements of smaller models.

The one-and-a-half by two millimeter size is among the most used in the whole strip range. It is strong enough to hold its shape without support and at the same time fine enough not to look coarse on a model. That is exactly why it suits frames, cross members, stiffeners and anywhere a thinner strip would not be enough while a heavier bar would already draw the eye.
The strip is shortened by scoring it with a knife along a ruler and snapping it over an edge. With a rectangular section it is worth scoring from two opposite sides, otherwise the break will wander. It is glued with a liquid polystyrene cement, applied at the edge of the part being fitted, which draws itself into the joint.
The rectangular section lets you lay the strip flat or on edge and so obtain two different element heights from one material. One piece is 35 centimeters long and is sold singly.
When building a frame, glue one side first on a flat surface and let it dry. A structure assembled all at once almost always twists, and straightening it afterwards is no longer possible.
