A bar with a square section of 1.7 x 1.7 mm, one piece 35 cm long.
Responsibility details are not available.
A square section differs from flat strips in one practical respect: it looks the same from all four sides, so you do not have to worry about which face you glue down and how the part will be turned. A side of 1.7 mm represents a six-inch post in a ratio of 1:87: a post under a shelter, the corner of a half-timbered wall, a bollard at an entrance or a fence stake.
It is supplied singly in a length of 35 cm.
Posts have a tendency to lean while they are being glued. A square held against the base helps, as does glue applied in a small amount only, so that there is time left to align the part. For a row of identical posts, set the two outer ones first, stretch a thread between them as a guide line and fill in the rest along it.
The lower end can be sharpened to a point if the post is meant to look driven into soft ground. On the upper head, by contrast, a light chamfer of the edges or a suggested crack looks good.
The bar is useful outside buildings as well, for example as a core under a thin cladding layer, as a spreader holding the shape of a hollow superstructure or as a temporary support while a larger assembly dries.
With fences and railings the consumption of posts grows both with the length of the run and with the density of the spacing. Measure the route on the model and divide it into regular sections; only then will you know the real number. It tends to be higher than it looks at first sight, and running out of material halfway through shows up as a difference in shade on the pieces added later.
