A plastic bar of white polystyrene with a section of 1.7 x 2.8 mm and a length of 35 cm. The unit of sale is one piece.
Responsibility details are not available.
This plastic profile of white polystyrene belongs to a range that the manufacturer derives from the dimensions usual in HO size railroad modeling. The figures in the designation correspond to six and ten scale inches, and converting them into metric units gives a section of 1.7 x 2.8 mm. One strip measures 35 cm and the unit of sale is one piece.
The rectangular section makes the bar a universal stock of material. It suits frames and stiffeners of interiors, the beams of buildings, the edging of sidewalks and ramps in a diorama, floor gratings and the replacement of a broken part that the kit can no longer supply. The range has the same thickness in widths of 2.3 mm and 3.4 mm as well, so you can pick exactly the dimension that fits the real subject. Thin pieces are appreciated above all by builders of interiors, heavier ones hold their shape in load-bearing structures.
The material is cut with a sharp knife or a saw, it sands and it can be bent once it has been warmed. The joint is held by thin modeling cement for polystyrene, which draws into the seam by itself, and once dry such a joint will even take sanding. Level the cut with sandpaper before gluing and try the parts dry so that the length is right. Support a longer straight run until the joint sets, otherwise the bar will pull into a curve as it hardens. The white surface takes primer and ordinary modeling paints without any preparation, degreasing is enough. Store the profiles lying flat or hanging: a bundle leaned against a wall will bow in time and no straight piece will come out of it.
