PS4 Blue Spray

Tamiya PS-4 Blue, spray for polycarbonate bodies, 100 ml

A richly saturated blue shade from the Tamiya PS range. It is a lacquer spray formulated for the flexible polycarbonate bodies of radio-controlled models, not for styrene plastic kits. The 100 ml can is sprayed directly; the paint is not thinned and not mixed. If you are painting a conventional plastic model in polystyrene, reach for a different spray range from the same maker, which is intended for that material.

Use

• A polycarbonate body is painted from the inside, so the outer glossy surface stays protected by the plastic itself and cannot be rubbed off
• The order of the shades is reversed compared with ordinary modeling: the details and secondary colors first, and the covering coat last, sealing the paintwork from behind
• Before painting, take the protective film off the inner side, degrease the surface and do not touch it with your fingers
• Let the can come up to room temperature and shake it thoroughly for at least a minute
• Apply it in several thin coats with a pause between them, as one heavy coat runs and takes a long time to cure

Who it is for

For builders and drivers of radio-controlled cars who paint their own bodies and want a uniform, saturated base with no blotches. The blue from this range is a classic starting color for a simple scheme with white or silver accents. It also suits anywhere you need to prepare a spare body quickly between runs, because a spray finish dries fairly briskly and needs no compressor.

Safety at work: pressurized aerosol, flammable. Spray outdoors or in a well-ventilated space away from open flame and sources of sparks, use a respirator and protect your eyes. Hold the can about twenty-five to thirty centimeters from the surface and always make a test spray on an offcut of the same material first. Do not puncture the can, do not throw it into fire and do not expose it to temperatures above forty degrees Celsius. Keep out of the reach of children.
