An AK Interactive modeling paint from the Real Colors range in the shade RAF Sky, the light greenish gray of British undersides. A 17 ml bottle.
Responsibility details are not available.
Sky is a light, greenish shade of the Royal Air Force that was sprayed on the undersides of fighter aircraft from 1940. Besides the underside it also belonged on the identification band around the rear fuselage and on the propeller spinner, so it is visible on British aircraft from above as well. The name also states the corresponding shade to the American Federal Standard, number FS 34424.
The shade is essential for British fighters from 1940 onwards, whether for undersides or for identification markings. It comes into its own everywhere a very light gray with a hint of green is needed, that is a tone that cannot be replaced by an ordinary light gray or by a pale green. It goes well with the upper surface shades from the same range.
The bottle has to be stirred thoroughly before use, because the pigment settles to the bottom. The paint is applied in several thin coats to a degreased and dust-free surface, ideally over a primer that evens out the absorbency of plastic, putty and accessories. Thinning, spraying pressure and the cleaning of tools follow the manufacturer's instructions on the package; use the thinner recommended for this range. The identification band on the fuselage is sprayed with the surroundings masked off; apply the mask to a perfectly dry coat and pull it away at an angle and slowly.
The paint is supplied on its own in a bottle with a volume of 17 ml. Thinner, primer, final varnish, masks and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
