RLM 65 (1941) represents the later mixing of the light undersurface blue, which was somewhat lighter and greener than the earlier version. The paint is flat, sprays like a lacquer and is ready for the airbrush, it is thinned with water or with AK acrylic thinner, and it is non-toxic and not flammable.
RLM 65 Hellblau covered the undersurfaces of German aircraft for most of the war. The 1941 shade reflects the shift toward a lighter tone as the Luftwaffe palette developed. It found use on the undersides of fighters and bombers of the middle part of the war, where it took over from the earlier version.
For modelers building German aircraft of the middle part of the war who want exactly the later tone of the undersurface blue.
