Green Stuff World Rolling Pin Hexagons – texture roller

This is a modeling tool, not a kit. The roller is made of clear plastic (PMMA) with a non-stick surface and carries an engraved pattern around its whole circumference. Rolling it over a rolled-out layer of epoxy modeling putty or polymer clay presses a continuous repeating relief into it, a hexagonal grid (a honeycomb).

Use

  • Roll the modeling putty out into an even layer on a smooth surface.
  • Depending on the type of putty, dampen the roller lightly so that the putty does not stick.
  • Run it across the putty with even pressure to press in the pattern.
  • Let the finished relief cure; it can then be cut, glued and painted.

Who it is for

For modelers and for anyone building dioramas and gaming bases who wants to create textured surfaces quickly and repeatedly. The roller measures roughly 14.5 cm in length and 2.5 cm in diameter.

This is a tool; modeling putty and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.

A regular hexagonal grid resembling a honeycomb, suitable for technical and science-fiction surfaces or for bases.

Depending on the type of putty, dampen the roller lightly with water. The clear plastic has a non-stick surface, so the pattern presses in cleanly.

No, the roller is supplied on its own. Epoxy putty or polymer clay has to be bought separately.
