Paint Forge Roman Letters Stencils L – a stencil with the letters of the Latin alphabet

A stencil from the brand Paint Forge out of the Stencils range with a motif of the letters of the Latin alphabet. It is offered in size L, to which according to the name a sheet of 14 x 20 cm corresponds, that is the larger of the pair of sizes this motif is sold in. It is not a decal and not a mask cut for one particular model. You pick and put the letters together yourself, so you can spray the lettering you need and are not left dependent on what is on the decal sheet with a kit. According to the name this motif does not carry numerals, and the brand has a separate stencil with numbers for those.

Use

• The surface has to be perfectly dry and degreased. With lettering every unevenness tells more than with a pattern across an area.
• Fix the stencil with masking tape, so that it does not move during spraying. A shift of a millimeter means a smudged letter.
• Do not spray in one go. Low pressure, perpendicular from above, two or three thin coats, otherwise the paint will seep under the edge and the letter will lose its crispness.
• Lay the lettering out dry first and mark the spacings lightly, so that the text does not run away and end up tight against the edge of an area.
• Once you finish spraying, clean the stencil before the paint has dried on it. Dried paint in the fine cutouts of letters is the most common reason a stencil stops being usable.

Who the stencil is for

It suits a modeler who does his own markings: lettering on crates and drums in a diorama, captions on bases, tactical markings on hardware or texts on science-fiction and fantasy models. Size L gives room for longer lettering and larger type, so it works mainly with larger scales, bases and scenery. Anyone who needs only small captions will reach for the smaller M variant.

It is an aid for painting, not a kit. Paints, an airbrush and masking tape are not included in the package. Ventilate while spraying and protect your airways.
