Five sheets of 100 x 100 mm in grits of 15000, 20000, 30000, 40000 and 60000 for final polishing.

The set holds five sheets measuring one hundred by one hundred millimeters, each in a different grit. It offers the grades 15000, 20000, 30000, 40000 and 60000. An abrasive this fine no longer has much in common with ordinary sandpaper; it is used in the last minutes before the varnish goes on and its job is to remove dullness, not to shape.
The sheets do the most work on clear parts, on polished metal surfaces and on a surface where dust has settled after varnishing or a small crater has appeared. You always work from the coarsest grade to the finest, and between the individual steps the surface is wiped so that no loosened grit from the previous sheet gets under the next one.
Use old scissors for cutting, as the mineral grit dulls an edge quickly. A smaller scrap stuck with double-sided tape onto a wooden skewer or a strip of balsa will reach where a finger will not fit, and it keeps a flat plane in places where a loose sheet would round off an edge. After work, rinse the sheets and let them dry freely; stored damp they will stick together.
A speck of dust that has fallen into fresh varnish can be rescued. Let the surface cure properly for a few days, level the bump with the coarsest of the sheets over the smallest possible area, and then work through the further grades until the gloss matches the surroundings. Patience decides more than force here; two extra strokes are better than one deep one.
