A kit of the American medium tank Sherman M4A1 with a cast hull. It goes together without gluing, as the parts fit into one another.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sherman was the most widespread American medium tank of the Second World War and a number of Allied armies fought with it too. The M4A1 version differs from the others at first glance: it has a cast upper hull with rounded sides and a smooth transition to the front, whereas the other versions had a hull welded from plates and therefore angular. The tank weighed around thirty tons, had a crew of five and a rotating turret with a cannon. Its strengths were not extremes of armor or firepower, but reliability, easy repair and the fact that it could be produced and transported in great numbers.
The model is assembled without glue. The parts fit into one another through a joining system, so the build is clean, it does without tools and it can be taken apart at any time. The number of parts, the execution of the running gear and the extent of the movable sections follow from the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Proceed according to the instructions step by step, because with this system the parts are often secured only several steps later. Press the joints home at a right angle, so that no breakage occurs. Assemble the track and the road wheels on a flat base, otherwise the model will stand twisted. Do any painting only on parts you will not be taking apart.
The set is for collectors of military hardware and for builders who want a model without the work of glue and paints, and for building together with children as well. Paints, glue and a display case are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
