This item is not a finished element of a scene but an aid for making them. The silicone mold carries the negative of tires and hubcaps, from which you cast any number of pieces of your own. The advantage is obvious in scenes where the same feature repeats: a scrapyard, a workshop, a spare parts store or a heap of worn tires behind a garage need dozens of pieces that would be costly and slow to source one by one.
It will be appreciated by creators of larger dioramas and gaming terrain who need a quantity of identical features and want their number fully under their own control. The manufacturer states that the mold is made of quality heat-resistant silicone and that the best results come with resin; thicker modeling putties are possible, they are only harder to work with. It is best to take a casting out only after it has fully cured, so that it keeps crisp shapes. Excess material is easiest to wipe out of the mold with a flat spatula that will not damage the surface of the mold, and the mold then lasts for many repeated uses.
