Spray Chameleon Storm Surge Green from Green Stuff World

An effect spray from the Chameleon range. The name of the shade refers to a green base tone, but with chameleon paints the perceived color changes with the angle of view and with the light falling on it, so the surface never looks like a flat uniform layer. The can is ready to spray, and neither thinning nor an airbrush is needed.

What is worth knowing in advance. An effect coat behaves differently on a large area than on a small sample. Spray a test patch onto a scrap part or onto a plastic card and look at it in daylight and in artificial light, ideally from several angles.

How the spray is applied

• Shake the can for at least a minute, because the pigments of effect paints settle at the bottom.
• Keep a distance of roughly twenty to thirty centimeters and guide the can smoothly, with the start and the end of the pass off the model.
• Spray several thin passes rather than one thick layer, and let the surface become tacky between them.
• The can and the model should both be at room temperature, because in cold and damp the aerosol atomizes less well.
• After work, turn the can upside down and blow the nozzle through briefly, so that it does not dry up.

The base decides the outcome. Every unsanded scratch and greasy fingerprint is brought out under an effect paint, so smooth and unify the surface first. Try masking tape and any final varnishing in advance on an offcut.

Who the spray is for

It will suit science fiction and fantasy models, wargaming miniatures, display bases and custom work, where the surface is meant to catch the eye. For faithful historical camouflage an effect paint is a poor choice.

A pressurized container. The contents are flammable. Spray outdoors or in a well ventilated space, away from open flame and sources of sparks, do not breathe the aerosol in and protect your eyes and skin. Do not expose the can to direct sunlight or heat and do not pierce it. Keep out of the reach of children.
