A grass mat is a ready-made layer of growth on a flexible backing. Instead of scattering scatter in layers you only trace the area, trim it and glue it on, so a meadow, an embankment or a grassed yard is finished in a moment. The shade of the mat is given as spring, that is the lighter fresh green grass has shortly after it comes up; it therefore suits scenes from spring and early summer.
The ground has to be level, dry and free of dust. Lay the mat face up, trace the shape and trim it from the back with a sharp blade or scissors. It is glued with PVA glue applied in a thin continuous layer; over a larger area work in sections, so that the glue does not dry before the mat is laid on. Before the glue grabs, press the area down with your palm and press the edges in with tweezers.
The mat will be appreciated by builders of dioramas, owners of railroad layouts and modelers who want to set a figure or a vehicle on a ready-made grassed base. A base, trees, figures and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
