Textured sheet - small square slab paving 4 mm (AK interactive)

A styrene sheet 245 x 195 mm with an embossed relief of regular square slab paving with a field size of 4 mm, 1 piece in the package. It is a base for building sceneries and surfaces, not a section nor a kit. Against the five-millimeter variant of the same range it has a finer grid, so it comes into its own better in smaller scales and where the paving is to be denser and less conspicuous over the area.

What the sheet serves for

It is used as the surface of sidewalks, yards, courtyards and floors on dioramas and vignettes, as the surface of a base under a figure or a vehicle, and as a facing for plinths and foundation walls. You cut the shape you need from it and glue it to a base board; the relief is ready, so there is no need to engrave the individual joints by hand. Always compare the field size with your model, so that the paving matches the scale of the scene.

Work tips

• Cut with a sharp knife along a rule; score and break thicker material.
• Level the cut edges with a file, so that the sheet seats without a gap.
• Run the joins between two pieces along a joint in the paving - once painted they do not show.
• Paint from a dark base and pass the tops with a dry brush.
• A wash into the joints and pigments in the corners give depth and convincing grime.
