Loose grass fiber from the Czech diorama vegetation manufacturer Model Scene. The fiber length is 4.5 mm, the shade brown, the weight of the package 50 g. It is a loose material for creating grassy areas, not a finished turf and not a kit. The fibers are treated so that they stand upright to the substrate in an electrostatic field and the grass thereby gains a natural look instead of a flattened carpet.
The brown shade matches withered, scorched or overwintered grass — the end of summer, drought, autumn stubble, untended field edges, embankments and ditches, dusty and steppe terrain. A length of 4.5 mm gives medium-height growth that is usable across the common modeling scales: in smaller scales it reads as a mature meadow, in larger ones as ordinary unmown grass. A 50 g package covers even a larger area, because unused fibers can be swept up after application and used again.
For builders of dioramas, railroad layouts and modules who create grassy areas with their own hands and want control over the density and the color of the growth. The brown version is the basis for dry and late-season scenes, where green on its own reads as false.
Keep the fibers dry, as moisture makes them stand up less well in an electrostatic field. Neither glue nor an applicator is included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
