Grass tufts 5 mm high for dioramas and display bases, supplied in a tube. A scenic accessory for grassing over groundwork.
Responsibility details are not available.
A grass tuft is a ready-made clump that does to groundwork what scattered flock cannot: it creates taller, denser and irregular growth with a pronounced edge. Islands like that grow by walls, along tracks, around stones, at the edges of paths and everywhere grass bothers nobody, so nobody cuts it. Thanks to them groundwork stops reading as an even green carpet and starts to resemble a real meadow.
The 5 mm stated is the height of the growth on the model. In 1:35 scale it corresponds to grass about 17.5 cm tall, in 1:72 scale to about 36 cm. For military dioramas in 1:35 it is therefore ordinary cut to slightly overgrown grass, while for railway and aircraft scales it is rather taller growth.
On military and civilian dioramas, at the feet of posts and fences, in ditches, on ruined walls and at the edges of a display base, where a single tuft reveals that the surface is not just a painted board. It also serves well to hide an imperfect join between the groundwork and the base.
The base, groundwork material, the model and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
