The Lifecolor UA238 modeling paint, a dark olive shade for Soviet military vehicles, listed under the number FS 34096.
Responsibility details are not available.
A dark olive is the base tone of Soviet military vehicles. The number 34096 defines the shade per the American Federal Standard 595, which describes paint colors numerically, so they can be compared across manufacturers; the leading digit in the designation refers to the sample of the standard, and for the actual finish the manufacturer's data applies. The shade is dark and unsaturated, and on a large area it looks darker still than on the chart, so on a model it pays to reckon with detail disappearing in deep places unless the surface is brightened later.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before work so that the pigment settled at the bottom is evenly dispersed. Use the thinner intended for this line, and keep to the thinning ratio and the method of application stated by the manufacturer on the packaging. Apply several thin coats with a pause between them; one heavy coat fills the engraved detail and the fine surface detail disappears. Wash and degrease the surface of the model beforehand.
For builders of Soviet and Eastern military vehicles who want their base shades matched within one line. The dark olive serves as the starting coat, onto which the brightening of surfaces, dust and the soiling of the running gear only then come.
Thinner, brushes and airbrushes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The volume is stated on the packaging.
