The dark leather of boots, belts and pouches gets a tone of its own with the shade Dark Leather from Lifecolor, one that does not merge with black on a figure.
Responsibility details are not available.
Dark tanned leather is everywhere on a military figure: boots, belt, shoulder strap, pistol holster, helmet strap, bag strap. The Dark Leather shade is a deep brown tone that stays brown even in shadow and does not fall into black, as happens when leather parts are painted straight in black. It is a water-based acrylic paint from the uniform line of the Lifecolor brand.
Real blackened leather behaves differently in scale from a black paint. On a figure in 1:35 a black area swallows all the detail and the boot turns into a shapeless block. A dark brown tone, by contrast, lets the seams, the buckles and the folds of the instep come forward, and once the edges are brightened the boot becomes a recognizable object. Beside a woolen uniform, leather forms the opposite pole: smooth, hard, with a sharp highlight on the bend, while the fabric stays subdued and the transitions on it are wide.
It suits modelers of figures in all the usual scales and builders of vehicles where leather is visible in the interior. It works well in a pair with the lighter and warmer leather tones from the same line.
Stir the contents of the bottle from the bottom up, close the container carefully after taking paint out and keep it out of the reach of children.
