The Lifecolor UA510 modeling paint in the RLM 81 shade, the brown-violet camouflage tone of the Luftwaffe from the end of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
RLM 81 belongs to the late camouflage trio of shades of the Luftwaffe, which appears on the upper surfaces of aircraft from 1944 on. It is usually described as brown-violet and in practice it was used in a pair with the two other late tones. The shades of this group differ noticeably on surviving paintwork according to the maker of the coating and according to the age and wear of the surface, so differences between the various interpretations are common with them.
The paint suits models of German aircraft of the last wartime period, their upper surfaces and the angular camouflage blotches. It also serves where you are building a machine from a particular photograph and need to tune the shade into a combination of your own.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio as instructed by the manufacturer on the packaging, that is the thinner intended for this line. Apply in several light coats rather than one heavy one; light coats preserve the surface detail and, when spraying, allow soft transitions between the blotches. Degrease the surface of the model before painting and let the primer coat dry properly.
The paint will be appreciated by aircraft modelers who build late German machines and want their shades matched within one range. Matching shades within one range is, after all, simpler than mixing coatings from different makers.
It is supplied on its own. Thinner, brush, airbrush and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
