The postwar Italian aircraft green takes the form of the shade Italian Air Force Dark Green 28 FS34079 in the Lifecolor acrylic range.

The dark green Italian Air Force Dark Green 28 FS34079 belongs to the shades with which the Italian Air Force handled the camouflage of its machines after the Second World War. The maker gives the designation FS34079 per the American Federal Standard in the name; in the postwar era the colors of Allied air forces were described by exactly this system, so the same number appears at several states at once.
Development took a similar course on Italian machines as elsewhere. The colorful wartime camouflage with warm grounds and pronounced drawing was replaced first by areas of bare metal and, once it turned out that shiny duralumin helped against neither radar nor a view from above, dark positions came back, this time in the form of calm, low-contrast schemes assembled from a dark green and a gray. This green is one of those elements, and on a model it works as a large continuous area rather than as drawing.
It will be appreciated by builders of postwar Italian aircraft and by modelers who work with shades coded per the American standard and want them in one acrylic range. Given that a dark green carries the same number at other makers too, it is a well-established and easily placed tone.
