Responsibility details are not available.
A paint from the Lifecolor modeling range, listed under the designation UA547. The name gives the shade Dark Earth and the standard code FS30118. FS is the American color standard Federal Standard 595; the digit in the second position of the code places the shade in the group of brown colors and the leading three marks the matte sample of the standard. It is therefore a dark brown earthy tone.
A dark earthy brown is among the most widely used modeling shades of all. It will serve as a covering color over large areas, as the dark component when mixing further earthy tones and as a ground under dusting and mud. It also works well as a dark base onto which a lighter shade is applied in a spatter, so that a smooth transition arises without sharp edges. It serves just as well for touching in wooden crates, straps and other accessories on a diorama, where a uniform earthy base has to be kept.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before every use, as the pigment settles at the bottom when it stands. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio as instructed by the manufacturer on the packaging, that is, the thinner intended for this range. Apply in thin coats and let each one dry; a single heavy coat will fill the fine surface detail. Wash and degrease the surface beforehand, as the paint beads up on greasy plastic.
The bottle of paint in the shade named is supplied on its own. Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and varnishes are not included, unless stated otherwise.
