Lifecolor UA623 Sea Blue 5-S is an acrylic paint in the blue-gray of the US Navy of the Second World War, 22 ml.
Responsibility details are not available.
A dark blue-gray of the US Navy of the Second World War in a bottle with a volume of twenty-two milliliters. The designation 5-S is a period shade number from the system out of which the camouflage Measures were composed. Unlike the purely gray tones, this shade has a noticeable blue shift, meant to imitate the color of the surface of the sea. The paint is acrylic, thinned with water or with the brand's own thinner, and applied with a brush as well as an airbrush.
The manufacturer ties the shade to camouflage Measures 11 and 12. The blue Measures were to hide a ship on the open sea, while the gray ones worked better near the coast and in fog, so the choice of shade was not random but followed from where the ship was to operate.
Shake the bottle thoroughly, as the pigment settles to the bottom. For a brush the paint is used practically as it is; for an airbrush thin it to the consistency of milk. Dark blue shades cover worse than gray ones, so count on more thin coats and on a lighter base. On the large areas of a hull it is good to grade the coat so that the plate edges stay legible, otherwise the surface merges into a single dark wall.
Keep the paint out of the reach of children, ventilate when spraying and protect your airways. Close the bottle carefully after use.
