A teak deck plank has a light honey cast, and Light Teak is aimed at precisely that: a water-based acrylic paint for wooden decks and the wooden details of models.
Responsibility details are not available.
Teak is the classic deck wood. It resists water, does not get slippery and, after years at sea, acquires the characteristic golden honey surface that is told apart from other woods at first glance. Light Teak is a water-based acrylic paint aimed at its lighter position: a freshly laid or regularly maintained plank, before the sun and the salt pull it toward gray.
Light teak against the other woods
Against the wood of Japanese decks teak is warmer and goes more toward gold; against dark interior woods it is, on the contrary, markedly lighter. It is precisely this difference that makes wooden surfaces believable on a model: as soon as a modeler has several wood tones at hand, a deck stops pretending to be one brown area. It also helps that the light tone stays readable under further coats and can be shifted toward a grayed position as needed.
The paint belongs in the equipment of ship modelers, but everyone who takes on dioramas with wood will use it. The light tone gets along well with further grading, so it can be used as a starting point even when the resulting deck is finally meant to be darker or grayed.
Keep out of the reach of children and do not swallow the paint. Ventilate when spraying and protect your airways; close the bottle after work.
