Rain, salt spray and the alternation of damp with sun do more to hemp than years of use, and the middle phase of this change is captured by the acrylic shade Weathered Hemp from Lifecolor.

Rain, salt spray and the constant alternation of damp with sun change hemp fiber faster than use itself. A rope first darkens after soaking, then dries out into an unassertive brown-gray and finally divides into the light crests of the lay and the dark grooves between the strands. Weathered Hemp from the Lifecolor acrylic range holds precisely the middle phase of this change: hemp that is far from new but still carries a tone of its own and does not merge into gray.
It suits best where a rope or canvas works outdoors and yet stays in service: mooring and anchor lines, hauling lines on deck, tents, canvas sheets and covers over cargo beds. It also works well on wider straps and strapping of woven material, where the weave is visible. On a ship model it will serve on the coiled ropes stowed on deck too, where both the sunlit outer side of a turn and its markedly darker inside tend to be visible.
