An acrylic paint from the railroad range of the Lifecolor brand. By the name it is a gray associated with freight railroad traffic. Unlike accent colors, it is a shade for large areas, that is, for the part of a model that will finally determine how a vehicle looks as a whole.

Gray as the basic area, not as filler

Gray tends to be underrated, although it is precisely what the believability of a freight vehicle rests on. Universal grays from ordinary sets tend to have a shift toward blue or toward brown, and over a large area that shows at once. A named railroad shade avoids this problem and at the same time suits as a calm ground on which colored elements and shading only then stand out.
