A hand-painted set of figures from the Scenic Accents line of the American maker Woodland Scenics. It shows travelers in uniform with luggage, that is a typical station scene from the time when uniformed professions were an ordinary part of the company in waiting rooms and on platforms. The figures are cast from plastic resin and supplied finished, without gluing and without any need to touch them up with paint. HO scale corresponds to 1:87.
Uniformed travelers with luggage belong on a platform, in a station concourse, at the ticket windows, at a bus stop or in an entrance hall. In a scene they fill an important role: they give a station a function and suggest the action. An empty platform comes across as a model, an occupied platform comes across as a place. The set goes well with further civilian figures of the same line, because it is made in the same style and size.
Place the figures in small groups and leave open areas between them, because placement that is too even looks artificial. Luggage at the feet or in the hand helps a scene to be read, so turn a figure in such a way that this part can be seen. Glue them with a small drop under the soles. If the paints of the set are glossier than the surrounding scenery, unify them with a very fine spray of matte varnish from a greater distance.
The figures are supplied finished and hand-painted. Glue, terrain and further accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
