Weathering Sci-Fi Set by AK interactive is a weathering set aimed at science-fiction and fantasy subjects: mechs, battle robots, starships and wargaming models.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of weathering products by the Spanish brand AK interactive, which the name designates for science-fiction and fantasy models. It is not a kit and not a single paint, but a set for the weathering and soiling of a model that is already built and painted. The target group is walking machines and mechs, battle robots, starships, scout vehicles and wargaming miniatures.
What weathering does to a model
Weathering is the sum of the techniques that turn an evenly painted model into a machine with hours of service behind it. Large uniform areas are shaded, engraved lines and rivets are brought out, and traces of dust, grease, corrosion and wear on the edges are added. With science-fiction subjects weathering has one further role: it gives an invented machine a believable scale, because the eye reads dust, streaks and wear as familiar signs of real service.
Weathering always comes only on a painted and dry model. Build the effects in layers and from subtle to pronounced, because taking away is hard. Work with the real thing in mind: dust collects on horizontal surfaces and in corners, wear on edges and in the places where a crew touches a machine. On large areas try the procedure on a piece of scrap plastic first.
For modelers of science-fiction and fantasy vehicles and for wargaming players who want their models finished to a final appearance rather than left at the plain base color.
Ventilate while working and keep the products out of the reach of children.
